Ariane 6: Eiffage Métal always at work
Following its participation in the ELA4 project to build the infrastructure for the Ariane 6 launch pad alongside Eiffage Génie Civil, Eiffage Métal is continuing work on the launcher by constructing the EFF* building to house the rocket boosters.
On September 10 and 11, an important milestone was reached on the site with the lifting and docking of the mega-doors (26 m high and 8 m wide) that ensure the building's closure and watertightness.
Next milestones: the installation of the envelope and the installation of the mechanical equipment (overhead crane, motorized platforms). To be continued...
The Ariane 6 program is funded by the European Space Agency. As for the work, it was entrusted to us by ArianeGroup, the delegated project manager, and CNES, the prime contractor for the design and execution of the project.
The opinions expressed herein should in no way be construed as the official position of the European Space Agency.
