Eiffage Métal and Smulders have won the contract to manufacture the 62 transition pieces for the Yeu and Noirmoutier islands wind farm
Our Eiffage Métal teams, together with those of our Belgian subsidiary Smulders, have won the contract to manufacture the 62 transitional parts of the future offshore wind farm on the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier
Each transition piece will be 29.5 metres high and have a diameter of 6 metres. They will weigh just over 360 tonnes each.
The offshore wind farm on the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier will have a total capacity of 496 MW and will produce an average of 1,900 GWh per year to supply nearly 800,000 people with sustainable electricity, more than the current population of the Vendée.
Its commissioning is planned for 2025.
