Extension of Eole: the flyover of Bezons makes the junction

After a year of work, the Eiffage Métal teams have completed the assembly and the installation of the 2 metal decks above the Seine.

Extension of Eole: the flyover of Bezons makes the junction

While the fifth and last launching of the 348 m railway deck took place on February 23rd to ensure continuity over 1 km between the different structures, the teams mobilized on Monday March 8th to lay the last span of the 377 m pedestrian-cyclist link during a spectacular crane operation. The junction between the two banks of the Seine is now in place for these 2 structures.

The pedestrian-cyclist link deck with side beams, too curved at its ends, could only be put in place by launching for its rectilinear central part. The bank spans were installed with a crane, beam by beam, on the Nanterre side above the mainland and, more spectacularly, in one piece for the entire bank span on the Bezons side, above the Seine. A high-capacity LG1750 crane was needed to lift the 38 m long, 6 m wide, 130-ton span in a reduced space, all without interrupting rail traffic on the track being operated.

Now it's time for the Eiffage Génie Civil teams to proceed, until the summer, the concreting of the 2 metal decks. The equipment, development, sanitation, roads and lighting work will then follow one another.

Ordered by SNCF Réseau, this important structure will be delivered in November 2021.
