Eiffage wins as part of a consortium the contract to replace two engineering structures in Nuremberg (Germany), for a total amount of €110 million
Eiffage, through its German subsidiaries Eiffage Infra-Bau and SEH, has won in a consortium with Mostostal Kraków, the contract from the city of Nuremberg in Germany, to replace two bridges positioned in line with each other as well as the associated access roads. The contract is worth a total €110 million (Eiffage share: €95 million).
The new dual-carriageway structures, together with pedestrian and cycle lanes, are part of a stimulus plan project to renovate Germany’s infrastructure. The existing bridges no longer meet current sustainability, traffic flow and road safety requirements.
The first bridge which will span the Main–Danube Canal, is particularly challenging technically. It will be built from a prefabricated and pre-assembled metal monobloc superstructure transported by waterway to its final position and installed there. Topped with elliptical arches, it will measure a total 105 metres.
The second structure will be 62 metres long and pass over the A73 motorway. It will be constructed alongside the current bridge in order to maintain the traffic flow during the works period. Also topped with elliptical arches, this metal bridge will be assembled on site.
Works are scheduled for completion in late 2030.
This new contract consolidates Eiffage’s position in Germany, where the Group is benefiting from the country’s dynamic infrastructure modernisation. Eiffage employs 9,700 people in Germany and generated revenue of €2.8 billion in 2025 from all its business lines deployed in the country.
