Ethics and Social Responsibility
Eiffage has implemented an ethical framework that applies to all of its stakeholders, both internal and external. This framework focuses in particular on business ethics and the Eiffage whistleblowing system, respect for people and suppliers, and sustainable development.
Business ethics and the Eiffage whistleblowing system
In line with the Group's values, foremost among which is setting an example, and in a context of stricter national and European regulations on anti-corruption and due diligence, Eiffage has implemented a compliance system based on the following key tools:
- A Code of Conduct detailing the rules and conduct to be followed in terms of business ethics,
- A training program for employees in the most sensitive positions (e.g., managers, employees with direct commercial links to customers),
- An alert system for all Eiffage employees and stakeholders (such as co-contractors, subcontractors, and their respective staff). This system allows employees to report the following in a responsible manner, without financial compensation and in good faith:
- serious breaches of the Code of Conduct or Eiffage's values (e.g., corruption or influence peddling), human rights, the environment, or health and safety
- information about a crime or offense, a violation or attempted concealment of a violation of a national, European, or international commitment
The alert system in practice
- Nominative or anonymous reports via the multilingual “Eiffage integrity line” platform, accessible in all countries where the Group has entities.
- Reports are handled by the Group whistleblowing system manager or the local whistleblowing system manager.
- Written acknowledgment of receipt within seven days, investigation, remedial measures, and closure of cases.
- Implementation of protective measures and confidential handling of alerts.
NB: If you are an Eiffage supplier, please do not use the “Eiffage integrity line” platform for invoice payment issues. Instead, contact your representative within the Group directly and, as a last resort, contact the purchasing mediation department [EIFFAGE] at [email protected].
Respect for people
For Eiffage, respect for people is particularly important in terms of prevention and safety on construction sites, but also in terms of equal opportunities, professional integration, and non-discrimination. We apply these principles wherever the Group operates. Since 2005, Eiffage has been a signatory to the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, which calls for respect for fundamental values: freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor, the effective abolition of child labor, and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Our approach and commitments to combating modern slavery and human trafficking and to respecting human rights were reiterated by our CEO, Benoît de Ruffray, in two specific statements:
- Statement on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking (2022)
- Statement on Respect for Human Rights (2023)
Respect for suppliers
Our suppliers and subcontractors contribute significantly to the Group's business. That is why Eiffage extends its responsibility policy to all its partners, both in France and internationally. We have therefore implemented a responsible purchasing policy that incorporates demanding ethical and sustainable development criteria and regulations into framework agreements, general purchasing conditions, supplier listing, and contract awarding.
Sustainable development
Eiffage has made ecological transition and innovation two key priorities in its strategic plan. All of the Group's innovation and R&D efforts are focused on the low-carbon economy. Developing alternative construction methods and using bio-based materials, protecting biodiversity, participating in the circular economy... We make controlling the environmental impact of our activities an absolute priority.
The Ethics & Compliance Handbook
The pillars of Eiffage's ethical and compliance approach are described in this document, updated in 2025. To get straight to the point, a summary presenting its key elements is also available.
