Cité internationale de la langue française: a glass roof designed by Eiffage Métal
Our Eiffage Métal teams are proud to have been involved in the restoration of the Château de Villers-Cotterêts, now the Cité internationale de la langue française, which was inaugurated yesterday by the President of France and will open its doors to the public on 1 November.
For this emblematic project, Eiffage Métal built a 605 m² glass roof, using 85 tonnes of steel, the metal structure of which was designed by the company's integrated design office. The glass roof covers the courtyard of the Jeu de Paume and facilitates the visit between the various educational areas of this cultural centre.
Following on from the glass roof at the Hôtel de la Marine in Paris, already completed for the Centre national des monuments nationaux, this project is further proof of the expertise of Eiffage Métal's teams in renovating historic monuments.
Congratulations to all and thank you to the Centre des monuments nationaux for its confidence!
